Book Review: Start with Why ~ Simon Sinek

Inspiration is defined by the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, especially to do something creative. We live in a world focused on finding inspiration in everything we do or say.

We look to be inspired for what to cook for the day, what clothes to wear, the career that has total fulfillment,  the exact sport or instrument for our child to play that will make them accomplished, or the ultimate handbag to inspire us to take on the world.

However, it is not inspiration we should be looking for….it’s why. In Simon Sinek’s book Start with Why he truly gets to the heart of our why. This book breaks down that by starting with your why you will be inspired…your staff will be inspired…your child will be inspired…or anyone else around you. It gives you the thought to look at things from a different perspective.

No matter what industry you are in, corporate America or a stay at home mom, this book reminds you to get up each day and remember your why. I found that the perspective Simon discussed gave me pause with my decision-making and actions. I thought first before I said yes. I mapped out the outcome more thoroughly before starting to realize if this was the right direction for myself and my family.

Grab some tea or coffee and a copy of this great book. You will be inspired to be a better version of yourself and find your why. We would love to hear your thoughts after reading this inspiring book.
